At the recent PNC Championship this Sunday, Tiger Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren was spotted cheering on her former husband and their son Charlie Woods.

Despite coming in as runner-ups after a playoff against Bernhard and Jason Langer, the father-son team made quite the impression.

The high-profile couple separated back in 2010 after an acrimonious divorce, which followed their 2004 marriage. Their two children, Charlie, aged 15, and Sam, aged 17—who carried for her father and brother—were there to witness their dad’s support.

Nordegren, showing no signs of past bitterness, attended to support her kids actively participating alongside their father in Orlando.

On Sunday, Charlie Woods, who attends The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Garden, Florida, showcased his golfing talents by achieving his first hole-in-one on the course’s 175-yard fourth hole—a feat he modestly described: “It was a perfect seven-iron, so just kind of hit it,” and added, “Down off the left, a little cut seven. It was awesome. I didn’t think it went in. I don’t believe anybody until I go up there and see it.”

According to TWLEGION, Nordegren actually missed witnessing the ace with her own eyes as Todd Lewis reported she watched it from a clubhouse TV but then headed out to the grounds for the back nine, reports the Mirror US.

This year is the fifth consecutive appearance for Team Woods at the PNC Championships, with Charlie having been just 11 years old when they first participated in 2020.

“To be out here in this environment and to have fun like this – it doesn’t get any better,” Woods said when chatting with NBC. “This week is for each other, and we’re just rooting so hard for each of us to pull off each shot that we want.”

Woods and Nordegren met in 2001 while she was looking after Jesper Perneivk’s kids, his distance with the Swede was closed despite her having a partner back in Sweden. Post-divorce, Nordegren has three children with former NFL tight end Jordan Cameron.

Woods has remained single and took a sabbatical from golf in 2009 amidst whispers about his failing marriage. “After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf,” he remarked at that point.

“I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.”

Meanwhile, Charlie Woods wasn’t the only player’s offspring nabbing a hole-in-one at the PNC Championships; Paddy Harrington, son of the celebrated Irish golfer Padraig Harrington, nailed his first try on the par-three eighth.
